OERTZEN HDL – Fields of application
The high pressure fire-fighting device HDL is used with fires of class A and B. In the fire-class A (fires with solid matters) mainly water as the classic means of fire-extinguishing is used. According to requirements and situation it can be switched to foam by dosing of a foam agent and the rapid and uncomplicated switching at the express-attack device. This is excellently suitable for fire-extinguishing of flammable liquids (fire-class B) and prevents a possible flare-up of fires with solid matters.
Fire-extinguishing efficiency
The fire-extinguishing efficiencies of the HDL with least water consumption are really impressing. The principle of extinguishing is not “drowning” but cooling-down and quenching. Hence the fire site normally is completely dry after successful fire-extinguishing. Uncontrolled dispersion of contaminated damage water is therefore impossible. In hundreds of test runs with realistic times of flaring fire and thousands of actions in practice most economical values of water consumption have crystallised.
